Thanked: 3228I don't think that comparison works for me. Puma, Case and Henckels and others have/had a long history of co producing knives and razors. Buck has no background producing razors at all.
To me that means they are staring fresh with a clean slate and all the benefits and drawbacks that entails. Usually that has more drawbacks than advantages. There is not much in the way of improvements you can make after 200 to 300 years of evolution and the temptation is to ignore that and just make a folding knife which you do have expertise in. From the look of it, to me, they chose to make a folding knife.
Time will though and there is always hope.

Thanked: 3795I wonder what "Advanced Edge2x Technology" might be? I prefer my razors to have a single edge.

Edge 2X = Hollow ground
That's the marketing buzzword they used when they started using thinner grinds at the edge back around 2000.
I can't imagine that the $250 straight razor market is that big. For them to make the investment to enter the market, I would bet that they did their homework. Buck never followed the knife fads.
