Thanks to everyone for making me feel less guilty. One question I have is, although its new it says the seller is a barbershop owner somewhere in the sates, will it still come shave ready from the factory? I'm guessing it should since it is still "new" just curious as to what you guys have to say.

wow thats a great deal! I was originally looking for a Bergischer lowe, couldn't find any reasonably priced, so I actually started looking into a Bismark, then I saw this one, threw out a random offer not really expecting it to be accepted, and within 30 minutes it was.

If it is indeed new it will not be shave ready.

That is the very question I ask myself every time I buy a razor. Incidentally I'm at three for the week. It comes and it goes, the RAD that is.

Amen, brothers. I made a vow last week that I was laying off razor purchases for a while unless something I have really been looking for popped up.

    I bought two razors.

I made the same promise to myself. I've purchased five this week. Sigh...

No reason to feel guilt over what, so far, is an incurable condition. Enjoy.

If it is not shave ready, that means I will have to get it honed, which I have not yet had any of my razors sent off to be honed. Whats the best way to go about that?

There are many many people that hone razors. Essentially you want someone relatively close that you can develop a report with. You are in Florida so in theory you would ask guys in Florida what they recommend. You could for instance ask Hirlau what he thinks and who he used to use before he started honing his own. How far you send it is entirely up to you. There is a guy in Idaho with a stellar reputation. Email Gemstar razors. He has a website. Caution, he also sells razors. There is a guy in Grain Valley that also has a stellar reputation, his screen name here is Modine. Honestly as you look thought the forum you will see a lot of guys that hone. Do not pick me I live far far away with literally the slowest mail service in Canada.
