Thanked: 4eBay feather Clubs
I see a bunch of new feather artist clubs on eBay for about $60. Are these probably real, or just knockoffs?

They should be the real thing.
Note the long shipping time, they are coming from Japan I believe.
I've bought similar items from eBay sellers based in Japan with great results, you just can't be in a hurry.

The seller has a few negatives and neutrals, but none for the artist clubs, and few compared with positives. Probably a good deal.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If not from this, then I bought from a similar source in Japan at similar prices before.
Razor was legitimate and arrived in surprisingly short time via mail.

Thanked: 19Yeah, I just got one at Christmas from Amazon for the same price, delivered in 2 days with Prime. These Feather SS razors are ridiculously sharp. Definitely more "dangerous" than a regular, shave ready straight. If you haven't used one, start off VERY cautiously. But you knew that.

I have bought one on Ebay from another seller on Ebay (from Japan) but almost the same price. He was legit.
Peace!

I have bought three razzors from this seller and always had good luck. If you look for his best offer listings ne will usually come down a bit, and he offers 10% off for return customers if you leave positive feedback to the sale prior. He is not the fastest to get stuff mailed out, but he also ships with tracking to your door, which is nice.

Thanked: 351Those would be the real "Professional" razors.... They are NOT a low cost "Feather artist club DX" razors which are a different beast.
The Professional razors appear to be marketed to the "Professional Hairstylist", rather than the person looking for a replaceable blade straight razor for shaving.
They are clearly a step above in quality over the various "shavette type" razors that use 1/2 of a DE blade.
If you are looking for the true straight razor shave experience with a Feather straight razor, you should select the Artist Club DX range. The Professional razors are ground differently, to take control away from the user, to make it more suitable to a hair stylist who is not trained in straight razor shaving but rather just needs a razor for thinning hair, shaving the nape of the neck etc.
Of course, some gents have tried these razors for shaving and appear to be happy with them. I have never tried them. I had two Artist Club razors, the original was plated brass but is no longer made and I had the stainless steel version with the plastic scales.

This seller also does carry the DX and the Kai Excelia lines. If you don't see what you want listed, message him and ask. He will likely get it. His prices on the Feather SS don't seem worth the shipping time, considering the price on Amazon. His prices on the DX and Kai razors are much better. He will dicker a bit.
