Thanked: 101Yes you can reset the bevel fairly easy IF you have all the stones to do it with. The average straight razor shaver does not have a set of stones to do a complete honing from bevel set to finisher. They might have a Barbers hone & a strop. So while many of us do have that ability & equipment, many don't. I just feel that razors weren't honed with tape in the old day's. I talked to an old barber & he looked at me funny when I told him of people using tape. Hey, it's all good do what you want. I love that we have a place here to discuss things like this here.
Sincerly,
Slawman

What GreenRipper said about not chasing a certain razor at this point is excellent advice for any hobby or collection. I learned this when I began collecting watches. It takes time to learn the do's and don'ts, and to learn what really appeals to you. What you liked early on, may not really appeal to you later in your journey.

I just recently purchased a J.A. Henckels and it has quickly become one of my favorites.
