I tried it this morning after stropping it. It needs to be honed. I'll let you know afterwards.

I can't recall which company, maybe it was Robeson, or Union Cutlery ?, but I've seen that tang stamp before on a razor that wasn't a Craftsman. I've got a Beau Brummel and an Engels 'Wedge' like that. Both a royal PITA to sharpen. I hope you have better luck.

What is the difference between a wedge and hollow ground razors as far as shave quality or is it just a preference, and also is wedge harder to hone? Because I've seen quite a few nice wedges for good prices lately, just never used or honed one.

The particular 'wedge' I'm talking about is a 4/8 or maybe 5/16 and IME they are some tough cookies. The average Sheffield wedge is larger and IME easier to hone, but they are all individual and some are easier/harder than others.

I honed it last night and it shaves like a dream. It was easy to hone and took a great edge. It's definitely staying in the rotation.

Im the total opposite of Jimmy. I love honing the small "modern" wedge razors. One of my favorite shavers is a 9/16 Adoration Ax. Hones up fast and easy, and shaves so smooth, and is so easy to move around the face
