Thanked: 480Im the total opposite of Jimmy. I love honing the small "modern" wedge razors. One of my favorite shavers is a 9/16 Adoration Ax. Hones up fast and easy, and shaves so smooth, and is so easy to move around the face

Thanked: 480Are you one of those guys with slabs of meat that are only referred to as "hands" due to their location at the ends of your arms? I have noticed that guys who have a preference for bigger blades due to how much more comfortable they are to hold, have a habit of using too much pressure to keep the spine on the hone when working the little guys. and conversely, when they are so used to the big blades staying on the hone by sheer weight, they oft times lift the spine without realizing it.
You have way more experience than I with the hones, but I would be happy to take a turn with one, and see if I can bring it up to snuff.

I have been told I have big hands. That is why I don't like shaving with 4/8, or any razor that has a skinny tang. Hard to control the darn things. Same with honing them. I do appreciate the offer, but I'm going to see if I can't get these 'up to snuff' my own self. Just for the challenge.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
