My search for history Mappin & Webb
As some of you know, about 2 months ago i became the proud owner of a Mappin and Webb 7 day set in ivory scales with the orignal box. I got them all cleanex up and honed then thought sence the maker/company was still around id contact them to see if they could get me any details on this set.
I sent an email and asked if they could dig up info. Got an email back the next day (cool!) Asking me to send pics and they would forward the request and pics to the proper department. They were very nice and happy to help it seemed. After sending pics and the info i was able to dig up myself, the following day i got an email from another person from M&W saying it will take some time but they will get back to me.
Got an email today saying sorry our sales records dont go back that far and they have no info on my razors.
Too bad i guess. It would have been cool to get a sales/advertisment of the set or closer to the year made, or anything but i guess they cant help. Or just dont want too.
I told a couple members here what i was doing and figured i share the outcome. Not a happy one but at.least they didnt leave me hanging forever.Last edited by Gasman; 04-26-2017 at 01:29 PM.

I've got lots of info on the company in Tweedales Directory. Are you trying to find company info or info on your specific set?

On the set was what i was looking for. Thanks. Ive read a lot about the company. The idea of them being the ones dealing with the crown jewels is prety cool.
