    Default Filarmonica 13

    Hello,
When was the last Filarmonica 13 made?
Is another company making them recently? Dovo?
    Thank you!

I have no idea when they were made but the last hurrah, the razors had no tang stamp and just a blade etch. Quite a few years ago they were abundant but I have not seen one advertised for some time.

JMP died in 1979 and the factory closed in 87 is what I just came up with, I am not absolutely certain on 87

I have a Filarmonica 13-J, 7/8...bought NOS years ago...has all the stamps, but seem much different than the older Fili's, overall a smaller blade.

Yes, and I heard his family was left over with a large stock, some ready made and were sold off, like the pic of the one I posted I think, and then there were lots of unfinished razors that got bulk purchased and sold off simply marked Filarmonica, many with an etch on the tang rather than a stamp, and the quality of the latter has been questioned.

Thank you for the information. I have the stamped tang and gold wash, but the hot stamped inexpensive scales are "nail pinned." And not too well at that. It came in a transparent plastic snap open tube ;like the newer Dovo's.
    A trade, so I don't feel badly!

I have a 'Sello Oro' 13 from a Japanese seller. Came in a plastic box.
    Same pins Richard described.
No JMP on the tang. Oh Well! Thing shaves good!

    Richard.

I believe the one you have is the latter day 'Sello Oro' like Tom's. Ive had a few and they've all been excellent shavers, although it can be luck of the draw as ive read some have had bad experiences with these.

I also have a #13 with stamped tang, gold wash on blade but no JMP anywhere. Its one I traded for, a very fine shaver and one I plan to keep. I keep it in a custom leather case that has my initials stamped in it that a fellow member made for me a few years ago.....a special case for a special razor.
