    Default Bolsters

I have a razor that will need repinning. It has the bolsters on top and bottom of scales. Two questions.
    1. Are the bolsters glued on plus secured by pinning?
    2. Is it OK to put small washers on top of the bolster to help hold it on?

Reason I'm asking is the pin has pulled thru on one side and pulled thru the bolster. so the hole is a little larger. So what is the standard way to repair this?

Most razors I have seen with metal bolsters have collars.
If one has pulled-through, a picture may help.
Lots of ways to cure, I think.

Washers are used on top of the bolster just like on scales.
Sometimes the bolsters are glued on.

This is true! Some have bolsters which are obviously glued-on.
Some seem to have been laid into the mold and the celluloid/plastic poured-in.

Then, there are some which have a bit more to them...

Thanks for the info. Ill be gentle and see 8f i can remove them but if not, thats ok. Ill just repin with small washers in S.S. so they blend in. The bolsters look good its just that the one at the pivot end had the pin pull thru. It looks as if they didnt use any washers. Only the bolster.
Now if i can ever get some time to work on razors. Too much going on at home and now back in the truck. Maybe i should send the wife off for a vacation. That way i can have so time. Ha.
    Thanks again for the info.
