I agree with previous posts. Get yourself a decent 6/8 blade new from SRD or here on B/S/T. The rest of the items (strop, brush, soap/creams, etc.) can also be obtained from SRD.
Good luck and always ask questions if you are unsure which way to turn as you go down this path. You will hopefully have a great time learning this new skill.--Mark

Thanked: 0I recommend you start with an extra hollow grind 5/8. Do not get a wedge. When you are learning how to hone a razor it is best to start small and work your way up. It is much easier to set a bevel on a hollow grind razor and sometimes it comes to you with the bevel already set.
