An Unusual Cape/Tanifuji
I just received a NOS Cape 1000 razor that's quite unusual. Typical Cape 1000s have black squared off scales and are stamped 'For Barbers Use First Quality' on the obverse or non-show side. But this one is stamped with Tanifuji-San's stamp, 'trademarked' followed by his name in the usual Japanese kanji that he used. It also has faux ivory scales with normal rounded ends.
The Tanifuji stamp is not uncommon, but to see it on a Cape 1000 is unusual and definitely connects Tanifuji-San to the Cape series beyond the Cape Kennedy razor which bore his name on the side of the blade.

I've honed more Tanifuji razors than I care to admit and lots of Cape Tanifuji razors, I also own 3 Tanifuji Fukutaro razors including the Tanifuji Cape 77 Cape Kennedy razors one of the very last razors he made aged 77 years old, I can't really give you anymore info on your razor but I will say they are pretty exceptional razors enjoy.
