Default Help with Razor Maker Information

    Hello Gents....

I have a straight that was given to me.

I can read the engraving but have failed to find out anything about the razor or maker.

Engraved on the blade: "The Favorite"

    Engraved on the tang:
    C.C Hall
    Cutler (NOT cutlery)
    Margate

    Any information will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

C C Hall is likely to be a retailer with a shop in Margate, which is on the south coast of England. A number of Sheffield makers marked the blades 'The Favorite' such as Taylors Eye Witness plus Hobsons made one as well. There could be others even razors from Germany...

Nice looking old straight. I feel it could be a German a made razor from the picture but it is a crap shoot really. Should be a great shaver!

Thanks much. I have far too many straights now and I need to unload some. I was trying to get a feel on the linage of this one. It will be a nice, inexpensive vintage for someone.

It surely is. Not my preferred style though.
