    Default Dorko Solingen 1226 ?

Hi guys, I'll go straight to the point:

I'm beign sold a 50$ Dorko Solingen 1226 straight razor that according to the owner it has never been used. My doubts are because i did a google search and there's no 1226 model showing anywhere so i'm begining to think it's a cheap chinese knockoff or something similar. Should i buy it or will i waste my money? Attached are some pictures.

    Thanks for any information

Never heard of a 1226 either, but
if that is a fake then they went to an awful lot of trouble to make a razor, scales, box, paperwork, and tag that all look original.
I would say that is a real Dorko.

That´s my thought also and the reason my mind is divided. Looks real in every way except the number, and i feel like expending 50$ could be either a robbery or a bargain (i believe i have seen authentic Dorko N°42 and 43 for over 100$ on ebay).

Definitely genuine. There were so many different models made, it is not always possible to find info on all of them. Fair price, looks around 5/8.

Update: the seller apparently has a whole collection of Solingen stuff.

If you like its size it is a bargain. The only thing funny IMO is the size of the box compared to the razor. I think it is genuine.

Those Dorko's were top of the line razors. It is genuine and a steal at that price for an old stock item.

Hi again guys, so now i'm the proud owner of a Dorko and it looks amazing in my hands . The previous owner didn't even remember when he originally bought it but the edge is still sharp and the quality is exceptional. Acording to him, the razor was never used even once. There are 2 minor black spots as you can see in the attached pictures, but as i have read in the forums it won't affect it's performance and i can eliminate them later once i get the hang of honing and stropping.

This is my first SR, I'm used to shaving with a really cheap barber's shavette and i think this is a huge step in the right direction. So, thanks once again guys, i wouldn't have bought it without your help, now off to the learning forums

Dorko is still in business. You can always contact them via email and ask about a model 1266 straight razor.
