    Default Help identifying Solingen razor?

Being a fan of history, i was trying to find info in this razor, namely when the company was in operation to get a rough date on the razor. Normally this shouldnt be hard but googling "BBS straight razor", as you can imagine, gives mostly results in reference to a close shave. The tang lists "best silver steel" and "solingen" on side. Nothing on the back. Again, this doesnt narrow the search much. I had been wanting a vintage solingen razor and now i have one, but... i would like to know more about it. Its my first straight razor and was gifted to me. Im pretty excited about it!

    Nice looking razor.

You may be able to find the maker somewhere in here if you can find the brand name:

Thanks! Using the link posted by bobH (thanks bob!) I see 1920 as well. What is this representative of? I noticed on theblist a lotbof companies showing only 1 year. Was this the year they started? Year they ended? Im confused...

Also, what could the B.B.S. mean?

    Found this on the 'net.....

Schmachtenberg Brothers(Gebrüder Schmachtenberg), 1887-1939, had an import agency at 143 Chambers Street, N.Y.
Their manufacturing plant was in Solingen, and William Schmachtenberg had charge of that plant.
About 1894, the offices in New York were moved to 98 Chambers Street.
By 1913, they were at 66-68 Reade Street, with Frederick W. Schmachtenberg as a member of the firm.

    Also Found this thread straightrazorplace.com/razors/120995-berti-bertenburg.html

It refers to Berti Bertenburg Solingen
