Thanked: 4827It looks like the real deal. A frameback razor with a pattern welded blade.

LeCoulter was frustrated in his search for good razor steel and he is said to have used his watch springs welded and hammered out to make his blades. From a couple of older ones I have; there is a patterning to some replaceable blades that is not from normal rolling methods nor usual corrosion removed. The patterning is in differing levels from the surface as though there were differing grades of steel there. Not so pretty as the nice patterns shown. Could not find a foto that I posted while back.
YMMV
