Thanked: 1Wade & Butcher 7 Day Set
Hello,
New to the forum. I have this Wade & Butcher 7 day kit and have not been able to find one like it online. Can anyone tell me what this kit is, it's age and it's value? The blades are in very good shape.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. This is a beautiful 7 day set, we can not do valuations it is against our rules.
I would say this set is likely around late 1890's to early 1900's. IIRC the marking on the tang saying Sheffield, England generally but not always puts it after 1890. The scales or handles seem to me to be celluloid. These are in excellent condition overall it seems, finding a 7 day set complete is not rare I don't believe but bit more difficult I'd say.
Very fortunate and awesome to have. Are you wanting to learn to use a straight razor? If so I'd recommend not doing it with these. Save these until your learning curve is passed.
To find approximate value go to ebay, look at ended auctions and try and find sets as close as you can to yours. This will give you a decent idea of value.Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

That is a beautiful set you have there and in great condition, it appears. Everyone on this forum would be more than happy to share the wisdom of how to use them with you. As much as I'd love a full set like that, I'd have to agree with recent posts suggesting learning with a different razor just to keep the condition as it currently is in. Would be a cool gift to a child to hand down, too. If you're totally uninterested in the concept of straight shaving, there's always the option of auctioning them off, too. Supply and demand usually doesn't lead you astray. Unfortunately, I'm in the market for a home so I couldn't partake in any such auction. I do hope to see you enjoy them for ages, to be completely honest. There's nothing quite like focusing on a good shave to relieve some anxiety. Thanks for sharing the pics though!

Very nice set. A wonderful thing to have. Hope you feel the need to learn SR shaving and be able to enjoy those some day soon.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Welcome to the forum.
That is a truly great set you have there.
If I were you I would hang on to it. I would get another razor to learn on and then I would use those. They are really beautiful and in great condition.Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway
