    Default Rollin' with Robeson ShurEdge

Like so many of us surely do, I was over at "the bay" looking at vintage razors. I'm mostly a new production / NOS sort of hobbiest, but I've indulged in "old times" before.

So I ran across this razor, a Robeson ShurEdge. Never heard of it. It looked great. What looked like buffed polish, no rust or pantina. Seller described scales in excellent condition. Before I jumped, I wanted to know more about the brand. I came over here to SRP, did an advanced search, and found loads of information. But it was this thread that put me over the top.

When I saw that Glen (gssixgun) described Robesons (albeit secondhandedly) as one of the finest examples of American made razors of last century, that was enough.

So I entered the fray and won the contest with minimal loss of only $29.50 + shipping. Now the pictures.

The sellers description advertised shave ready, honed on Shapton Glass out to 30k. The first one pass shave, with 24 hours growth, without stropping, sleeping dog, no bark. Second shave, 36 hours growth, full on stropping, cat's meow, much purring.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.
