    Default I broke the scales...

I removed the scales from my DePew to polish and clean the blade. The forst pin came out no problem. The scale snapped when tapping out the second.
    The blade looks awesome.
My question is; will it take down the value if I make custom scales? They were just plain bakelite. Should I try to find original scales?

Original is sought by collectors. Do what you will like and not what others may want.

De Pew scales were horn I think. Can be fixed! Some pics?

If Bakelite, Those are irreparable, IMO.

If the blade is good, might search for proper scales with a bad blade.

Sometimes, enough is enough and should be left as it is because bad stuff happens! So sad!

A neat blade. Some replacement hard-rubber on the broken-side.
    could be.

Looks like you can't fix them. If you have a set from an old razor shorten them from the pivot end. That will keep them chubby.

Yes I believe originals are horn, mine is horn for sure with lead wedge.
