Default First Henckles razor, platinum carbon steel

Wanted to get my hand on one of these razors and saw this for under 25$ newly listed. All I have done to it so far is just mothers polish and I need to clean scales up some. The bevel is even on both sides and it looked like it has been awhile since it was honed. Took it to the 3k and looks like it will be easy to hone later.
Not sure if scales are original they look like they were made for a slightly larger razor possibly but it closes nicely and the pins are nice and tight.

Nice razor, I've got a 401 too. I need to get it out and use it more, been a while. You will be very happy with it I think.

Yes! A 401 is an awesome thin grind. Yours looks just fine!

Had a small bit of rust on bevel had to go to 1k, time to hone it up and see what sort of edge I can get off it

Yup. No pushing down on that one. It should go fast and easy.

Ended up getting a very nice shave from the razor. I was close to having it shave ready after using my jnat, before I honed it again new coticule came in the mail. Put the razor on the coticule and ended up with a very nice finish.
