Thread: Edaco

Today I was waxing up this Edaco 5/8ths for storage until a later date .

I noticed the scales which I assumed was Faux Tortoise shell but normally the faux kind has the darkness painted on the outside from what I recall.
These scales have the dark parts running through the material and it feels a bit more like a glass texture rather than plastic.

Does this mean they are not faux?
Or is there a specific way to tell?
