    Default Kobar questions

On an antique safari this morning, I came across an interesting razor.
It was in a Kobar box, with the two dudes shaking hands.
The razor itself was in pretty decent condition...nothing a Norton 4000/8000 and some Simichrome can't take care of. Looked like a 5/8.

The guy at the shop wants about $47 for it (converted from Israeli shekels) and I'm curious if you guys think that's a decent price. Also, since the razor markings were a tad hard to make out, if anybody has a Kobar and can post a picture (or at least describe it) that would help me a lot in determining if this thing is legit or not (in which case I can bargain him down a bit).

My hometown of Haifa has proved a poor source for old blades. Hopefully in Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, both cities with a bit more history, I'll have better results.

I don't have a clue about the Kobar, but I do know about antique shops. They are traditionally way over priced!

    Good luck,

As a matter of fact, I did...though this all went down a last year. You can read all about it (and many other adventures) here. The conclusion of the Kobar episode is in the third part titles Haifa, Again.
