Thread: A little help with this razor pls.

You could do two site searches in the search box upper right of home page. Something like "tortoise shell real or fake" and "ivory real or fake". There should be a few threads on the subject of how to tell if these materials are real or fake.

At least you found it and know how to use the search box now.

I'd bet the tortoise scales are dyed horn, though I've never seen it on a Clauss razor before. It isn't the genuine article, whatever it is.

However, that presentation box is a find, and the razors are both going to be fantastic shavers. Clauss are fine, fine razors.

To date, I had only ever seen single razor presentation boxes from Clauss, and almost exclusively in terrible condition. It looks like yours is in very good shape.
