Thread: Dovo SS vs. TI silver steel?

I am considering buying a Dovo SS or Bergischer Löwe. I was wandering how these two razors compare to my TI’s as far at the edge and shaving are concerned.

DOVO's stainless steel is excellent, once you get it sharp. I don't have a TI (yet), but the DOVO Micarta (SS) is one of my best shavers...

In general I think you will find the TI is just a superior blade to a Dovo. That doesn't mean the Dovo isn't a quality shaver because it is but its a matter of degree. I have several TIs and a few Dovo's including the Bergischer and a stainless. The stainless will hold an edge better but will take a bit more time to hone. Some think the stainless gives a rougher shave, I don't agree. If you can get a vintage Dovo grab one because they are superior razors every bit as good as any TI.

In the end its a matter of buying what appeals to you the most. All will give you a great shave but if you want the best blade buy the TI.
