They're fun to use but I prefer a straight!

Yes so would I but I was just meaning how everything is in one case. Strop, Hone and razor.

pilot just tonight i did a search for a rolls razor as a friend just inherited his Dad's shaving stuff there thread was from a while back... the consensus was that if you can get them honed correctly they will shave but they were not always made of the highst quality steel as they were not, seemingly intended for daily use. here is the thread i'm thinking of it was on the hones page.
    Be just and fear not.

I have about six of these and have never inderstood why they aren't more popular than they are. This razor is a great piece of engineering and just so clever it makes me shake my head in amazement when I think of how some guy designed it. If you can get a good one with a decent strop and hone (the hones are fragile and often snap if roughly handled) then they're great fun to use and an excellent travelling shave. I don't know if the blades are as good as the Wilkinson single-edged but I've got them to shave-readiness without too much trouble.

I have some spare replacement hones for these if you ever need them(these are the hones that are glued to the cover) Best regards Gary

Thanks Gary (bit off-topic sorry!) - I shudder to think of their chances of surviving the postal system though!
