Muting the spike in an attempt to protect yourself from cuts?

I am of the completely Opposing school of thought. If my point is gonna cut me, its gonna cut me. Even if you "run it under the windowsill" its STILL gonna getcha!

So, I want that spike so fearfully sharp, that when it DOES cut me, (and have no illusions, it will) that cut will be so clean, that when it heals, there wont be any visible scars.
