When people get a few razors it's possible that the boxes get mixed up. Or it could be that your uncle needed something to put his razor and that box was available.

Whatever the razor it is as others have said a perfect razor to start out on. If I were you I would send it out for some light restoration and a professional honing and give it a go.

Whatever you decide to do, good luck and enjoy.

I am always amazed if I find a razor inside of a box and they actually do match. Way more often than not, I have found that a razor is just stuffed in a box and off it goes to the yard sale/auction or what have you. It is like a surprise every time you open a box!

I have a Friedr. Herder Abr Sohn #77 Herder which is an excellent shaver, still trying to decide which is the best shaver; Boker, Herder and JA Henckels............

Can you imagine the fight we could have if people listed which razor was the best shaver, and they could only pick one make? probably 100 different choices

I don't think I could say that my best shaver (in terms of edge retention, closeness of shave, etc.) is the same as my favorite razor! Also my favorite razor tends to change over time.
