Default Pitchford by Zeitz & Co?

I recently acquired a Pitchford(P❤️FORD) with a nice piquè design on the scales. I’ll do a mild resurfacing on the blade to remove some scratches, but overall condition is pretty good. I also really like the scales. The thing I found most interesting though, is the rear tang stamp. It’s marked ZEITZ & Co. SHEFFIELD with a logo that looks like two crossed Z’s with an S in the middle. I’ve never heard of this company and I was pretty surprised to see it on this Pitchford. Has anyone heard of this outfit?

I haven't heard of them, but that is a nice looking razor. Congrats on the score.

Very unusual, I would think? A retailer in Sheffield? I don't think I have seen that either.
    Zeitz is German...
Perhaps an American or German retailer?
Pitchford is sort of an enigma as I recall. A forum search..........

The penned scales are different. Are they horn?

Nice looking razor, nothing of that name comes up in the Sheffield Trade directories. A mystery

Nice blade but fantastic scales. I am pretty impressed. They are the most unusual silver pique work scales I have ever seen. Most of them I have seen pictures of are either on bone or ivory.

Same here. This is the first time I’ve seen this in horn.
