Thread: Is this a Robeson?

Good evening. Question for the panel. Since I cut myself off from razor acquisition until I can set a bevel/hone and sharpen my own razors without fear of messing the edge up I figured I should probably get at least one test razor.. I found one😁.. This was in a local classified and described as Robeson Faux Frameback In good condition and shave ready. I took the bait as it was priced right and if it was a dud I can use as test razor for honing. I got it today and I can't find anywhere stamped Robeson. It has some etching on blade fronts but I can not make it out. As can be seen it was dropped with chip off front and chip in edge. It did come quite sharp so prepped to shave and had back up razor set to take over when this one scratched me with that edge. To my surprise this razor worked great and never felt that edge chip or the one on the tip. I only did one pass because I had as my back up a Crown/Sword that Mike ( M14shooter) had graciously reset bevel and sharpened for me and love how well it cuts now so did the last pass with that.. Anyone able to verify this as a Robeson? And since the nicks on this razor didn't seem to catch my face or neck in any way is it ok to leave and use it like this? Or will the friction of stropping chip that even more?... As always thanks for the help, Scott
