Thanked: 2Dovo Inox 6/8 Mother of Pearl
Anyone know anything about this razor? I think I just grabbed it up at a crazy good price, never used.

Dovo razors are decent, but in my experience do not come shave ready. How much experience do you have shaving with a straight?

Thanked: 2Lol not alot but this thread is about the razor itself, I don't plan to shave with it and think it's actually quite rare. Just looking for some info on this particular razor.

Thanked: 2I just found this in these forums, only difference I see is the blade width of mine is 6/8

Edit - It's actually not the same model, tang is stamped on this one and not printed/etched, and the number on it is...1? Haven't received the razor but looks like a factory defect considering its overall condition and depth of stamp. My eyes are deceiving me or a slight 4 is seen in this picture :

The original ones they sold maybe 10 years ago were fantastic shavers. I have one. The ones they make more recently are not as good. Actually when I bought mine it was totally shave ready from the factory.
Those scales look strange like it was pieced together or something. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 2Yeah it's pearl panels bonded over the stainless scales. I've seen two like this in these forums in 5/8, supposedly a limited production like the full shell scales.
I know it's a little older because the tang is stamped, they haven't stamped in quite some time.Last edited by JohnnyK1988; 12-15-2017 at 12:15 AM.

It does look like the tang is stamped and not laser etched like the current production Dovo’s.

I checked mine. It's a number 41 with the number perpendicular to the rest of the writing. It's a 5/8s.

Thanked: 2Perpendicular numbers are newer I believe, as with the laser etch. This is an old Dovo inox 40 I have
