My first W&B
Just got home from 21 days on the road. Don’t ask... I was suppose to be home Sunday before Christmas. I have a wonderful wife. Look what she got me for Christmas.
It is small; a 4/8 5/8. Markings, stamps deep and clear. Well polished. Scales are dirty and bottom pin area cracked. Interesting, the scales wedge looks to be some sort of metal alloy. Can’t wait to hone and use it.Last edited by Longhaultanker; 01-08-2018 at 10:20 PM.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

Missing Christmas is part of the life of a long haul tanker. This was suppose to be the first Christmas home in five years.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

Good looking blade. Congrads on it. And being a driver I understand the issues with getting home. Used to do long haul. Now days I get home most every night so you would came me a local driver. But I cover a few states. And being on the job for 14-16 hours a day can ware a man down. Enjoy that razor! And the good wife!
It's just Sharpening, right?

Very nice, an extra hollow ground, and pre 1891 - superb find.
I have some 4/8 razors and they are fine, personally, once you're at a certain skill level, the size of the razor means nothing, all these beautiful old vintage razors are made to shave.
Think you'll love that Sheffield steel, if you're honing it, or putting your own edge on...go with a Thuri....think that stone and Sheffield steel were made for each other IMO.
Congrats...
