    Default American Barber History

Does anyone know anything about American Barber brand razors? Even just a year estimate would be neat. All the searches I do on Google come up with the barber poles

I bought one from Josh a few months ago. American Barber Co., Philadelphia, 6/8 spike point. Had some custom scales made for them by Gary (the Penman).

As for date range, I always assumed turn of the 20th century. Just received my Standard Guide to Razors today so will let you know more once I've had a chance to read and understand how to date a razor (first glance through the book look a little scary the number of variables you have to take into account when putting a date to a blade).

It shaves like a dream. It feels so smooth and I rank it no. 2in my rotation after my Dovo Bismarck 5/8 and before my TI 4/8. Easy to hone, too.

Someone else on this forum has another reference book about razors and might be able to enlighten?

Yeah, hopefully someone has some information. I don't know why, but I like to know a little bit of history behind my shaving equipment.
