D.C. Halstead
I picked up a D.C. Halstead razor the other day at a local antique store. Been trying to find some info such as date of manufacture, etc. but can't seem to find anything. Anyone here have any info they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated.
Will upload pics later, the honey horn scales were broke so I'm making new ones out of some Bocote."If You Knew Half of What I Forgot You Would Be An Idiot" - by DoughBoy68

Do you mean Halsted instead of Halstead?
D. C. Halsted was a maker from Sheffield. I don't know anymore offhand.

That was the thread I found when I got my Halsted. I also just looked and it seems I don't have a pic of mine at the moment. And it was one of the razors I took to my Dad's so it's in the mail on its way back to me. I'll post up a pic when I get it back in my hands. Great shaver!

Yep! Halsted instead of Halstead, my mistake. Guess I better start using a magnifying glass even when I'm wearing my glasses.
I'm hoping it will be a fine shaver. Blade etching reads "Silver Combined With Steel", "Manufactured By D.C. Halsted, Sheffield" and "Prince Alberts Royal Patent Razor" along with some flowers on both sides of the text. I figure it was made before 1890 as it does not have "England" stamped on the tang but am hoping to narrow it down some. My best guess is maybe early to middle 1800's............Last edited by DoughBoy68; 02-12-2018 at 03:48 AM.

Got mine back from the Ol'Man today. It doesn't have any etch on the blade but I did make some new Bloodwood scales for it. Shaves great! Mines a bit hollow.
