I just got these three guys in the mail. One is an Eyre, One is a Greaves, and the other is a really cute Elliot. The Elliot is very beefy. I really like how it feels. It has a broken tip on the scale, and I will probably need to have it fixed by someone more talented than I. The Eyre needs to be tightened up too.

I’m a little envious of the Elliot in pressed horn scales. I am yet to find a set of those in nice shape. All three blades will be great additions to any collection.

I like the look of the Elliot as well. Hope someone can figure out how to save the scales for you. If not its still a great looking blade

I will try and get some pics tonight. It is just the standard broken tip at the pin location.

There are two main options for repair, filler or adding a piece, and doing that in combination with a liner. G-10 can add an amazing amount of strength to a scale, even as thin as 1/32”.
If it is the back scale, it can be replaced, the pressed front one is wort while repairing.

This is the chipped tip. It is right across the pin, just like every other tip break.

That shouldn't create to much problem. Being it' at the wedge end , and the back scale, is a big +, or you can replace it. As Rez said.
