Thanked: 55S. R. Droescher razors...question.
Is S. R. Droescher a manufacturer of straight razors or is it just a company (like many) that imported a razor and had their name imprinted (as many hardware stores did as well)?
I ask because Droescher was a U.S. company (I believe) using German steel and in the case of the "Blue Diamond" several other companies sold that same model.
They all seemingly were made by one manufacturer and just rebranded by the other companies. Or am I mistaken?

Thanked: 4827S R Droescher was all rebranded goods. It was all also high end goods. They had coticules, Thuringian hones, razors, brushes and strops and I’m sure a ton of other things I am unaware of. They were a few rebrand brands that were highly sought after. Hess, Dubl Duck, C-Mon and a bunch of hardware stores, and barber supply houses, they all had the best of the best. I have or have had many razors made for quite a few of these outfits and there is some good stuff out there for sure. SRD stuff seems to sell for a lot less than many of the other rebranded blades but are just as good of quality as far as I have seen.

Yes, often their branded razors are quite simple.
As Rez said, they were wholesalers. Provided lots of smaller guys things with their names applied.
One unique area is the hones they sold with their name upon them.
It looks as if they provided only the finest in that area.
