Default What is an AJ Jordan Sheffield razor worth?

There was an AJ Jordan marked Sheffield razor on Ebay just now (i was outbid). Anyway, it sold for about $30.00 US I think. 6/8, hollow ground, round point. Celluloid or ivory scales, it didn't say.

It looked to me to have two very small nicks in the blade but pics can be misleading and a hone might have taken those out, I don't know.

    What would that be worth?

There is a rule on the forum that states no evaluations.

In terms of evaluation, true, not allowed. The over-all statement though is, in a highly mobile/volatile market like straight razors an item is worth whatever the seeker is willing to pay. The research will show some sought-after razors have gone for pennies while pure junk has garnered high sums. If you like/want/covet an item you will pay what you can afford.

Too many members argue over this in the past? LOL

Just to be clear, the rule is against valuations, as in what something is worth.

Evaluations of razors, as in condition and origin and age, are fine.

Any razor is worth what you are willing to pay for it!

You can look on ebay for items sold with the same name, somehow. And then you can get an idea of what it would be worth but its still not accurate as some folks will pay a lot if its just the one they are looking for to complete there collection. I found this area in ebay once before, but dont remember how i found it.

A lot of newbies make this mistake. Dont worry about it. Just be sure to read the rules of the forum. They are not too controlling. Less rules than other forums for sure. They dont ban you for making a simple mistake here.
    It's just Sharpening, right?
