Man, I hate it when someone goes and polishes something that shouldn't be polished like these aluminum scales. Just ruins the whole look in my opinion. I'm glad you were able to correct that at least somewhat on your handle. Looks really nice in the picture.

I do have lots more to share. I just haven't decided quite how to do it yet. Do I start a massive "All About Razors with Cast Aluminum Handles" thread, or do I write up a monograph and post it on the forum as a pdf? I'm considering both options. But either way, I've been a little reluctant jump into the project because I'm still hunting down several of the most rare patterns, and I'd like to have a fairly complete archive of pictures to accompany my text.

As of right now, I know of 27 different cast aluminum handle patters, and so far I've gotten my hands on 17 of them. I'm going for all-original examples in good to excellent condition. I'm doing pretty well in my quest. But four of the razors in my collection have swapped blades, so I'm still hunting for all-originals to replace them with. And another five don't quite measure up in terms of condition, so I'm still hunting better replacements for them as well. I guess that leaves me with 8 razors in my aluminum collection that I'm perfectly happy with.

Sure is fun trying to find them though!

A razor club would be nice. Lots of members have razors with aluminum scales.
I think a generic aluminum club would include all of them.
    The Aluminumaniacs or something?

Ha! The Aluminumaniacs - I like that.

Are clubs a special function or area of the forum, or are they just threads dedicated to one type of razor?

Thanks. I'm going to give some serious thought to starting an aluminum club. Might be the kick in the pants I need to put my nose to the grindstone and get all my razors photographed.
