Thanked: 16Dovo Black Star
I've just bought a half price Dovo Black Star. Half price because of a slight colour defect in the scales (ex demo). The tang has a slightly dark look to it. Is this intentional or can it be polished out and if so, what should I use to do it? Also, can someone confirm that this is a normal carbon steel razor?
Thanks

The tang was supposed to have been powder-coated. If it wasn't a good job, it can look shabby but DOVO makes decent shavers, so you shouldn't have any problems in that department.

You should be good to go with it.. Don't worry too much about the powder coat on it.

It's carbon steel!

Should be one hell of a shaver.......
Nice grab. I would only worry about the tang and blade if you see rust...so, don't sweat it!
Congratulations!!

Thanked: 16Thanks very much, there's no rust, just slight discolouration but I wondered if it's meant to be black because of the name. Either way it looks like a lovely razor! Just stropping it on a pasted paddle strop so I can give it a whirl tomorrow!
