Thanks for the heads up Ss. Timing is everything. This case both ways.
I just had to clean out my shave fund for one of the dogs. He had an abscess in his paw.

    Those scales are awesome.

    Missing that one hurts.

Sorry to hear that, Jer, but it wasn't meant to be. I'm sure something will pop up when you're ready with JRAD funds.

I have acquired a Kikuboshi "Extra Hollow Ground" with thumb-notch, a Nichiri Co. Yaichi frameback, and most recently a mint Manaslu 300. All are 13/16 shoulderless (Kiku is single) with half-hollow grinds. The steel quality, size and grind of these razors hits the sweet spot for me, that's for sure.

I have three a Kikuboshi 2002, Hoshitombo 6500, and just picked up a Hayashi Diamond 1072. All three are are sweeeet shavers! They take a very fine edge for sure.

I love Saito SK1 smiling blade ! Really Salvador Dali look to them ! My question is this. Is there a particular technique to stropping and honing compared with a straight blade ??
