Sorry to hear that, Jer, but it wasn't meant to be. I'm sure something will pop up when you're ready with JRAD funds.
I have acquired a Kikuboshi "Extra Hollow Ground" with thumb-notch, a Nichiri Co. Yaichi frameback, and most recently a mint Manaslu 300. All are 13/16 shoulderless (Kiku is single) with half-hollow grinds. The steel quality, size and grind of these razors hits the sweet spot for me, that's for sure.--Mark

I have three a Kikuboshi 2002, Hoshitombo 6500, and just picked up a Hayashi Diamond 1072. All three are are sweeeet shavers! They take a very fine edge for sure.
