Those turn-of-century and later hollow Sheffields like that are not as popular for some reason.
IMO they are every bit as good as the German ones of the era.

Yep, I love my George Butler "Shakespeare" razor. As a high school English teacher, I have taught many of his plays and sonnets, so it has that nerdy appeal going for it too-enjoy!

    Oh yeah!
I had a George Butler Shakespeare as well, excellent shave.
Wish I had a Sir Francis Bacon razor, but if they were made by George Butler then they will shave well regardless of who wrote them.. hehehe
.. a favorite topic at Thanksgiving every year, though my father finally banned the topic!

That manufacturer is not an easy find. And like Tom said, very underrated, some of my favorite blades to use are turn of the century Sheffield and German hollow grounds.
Nice blades you guys have there!

Yes, they are excellent shavers, congrats. I discovered a hairline crack in my first George Butler Shakespeare and had to retire it. Fortunately I was able to get another which shaves as well as the first.

Thanks TC-You guys thought you were rid of me. I've still got about a week before I officially go back to school, but my in-laws are basically camped out here all summer, which means lots of shop and razor time for me. Did you know that if you change the letters around in mother in law, you get woman hitler?
