Thumbs up Anybody know anything about this straight razor

    Evening Gents!

In the July 2018 contest giveaway, I was surprised and won the contest (1st prize). It was a no name straight razor. I have attached pictures of it below.

I'm looking for any information on this straight razor; who made it, who was the person that honed this blade? I shaved with it this evening and once again it delivered an incredible shave. I have a very expensive Dovo straight razor that is their top of the line razor and I had it professionally honed. However, it doesn't deliver or even come close to the performance of this No Name Razor.

Any information that anyone knows, I would be grateful if you would share. Since it was a contest I understand if you want to keep it confidential and I will respect that, but surely you could drop me a PM and let me know something, if you know. This razor is incredible, that's why I ask.

    Thank in advance!

Don't think you will ever find out who made it (i have a couple no names too that are fine shavers) but hopefully the donor can give you the honer information.

PM Dieseld. He may be able to tell you the donor or contact them for you to find the answer.

Yep, contact Deiseld. He might know, but he might not. It could have been left overs from the last guy who was doing the givaways. I too have a couple no-name razors tha shave very well. My thinking on it is that the maker of the blade made a group of blades to sell to a vender that didnt want to pay as mu h for them, so the stamp was left off. The vender would then put them in his own box and sell for a lower cost too. This would bring up sales or possible more profit.

It looks to me to be a pre-war razor and after the turn of the century. This is going by the scales and pins and tang and tail shape. But its just my guess. Hope you find a little info on it but dont hold your breath. Id say start scanning pics of razors and try to find one that is made exacly like it, including the grind and all. That might give you an idea of at least what county made it.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

This seems like a game we could play. Show the pic of a razor but obscure its maker mark and see who can guess what it is.

A thread might be done.....'Name this blade'?
May work! An old razor presented with tape over the tang-stamp.

I normally would not do this to someone elses post but it was somewhat calculated... I figure it would bring more attention to the fights in turn maybe more of us to talk about them.. Not cool i know but dont slan me too hard fellas..
