I was walking down the street here in Tokyo and passed by a knife shop that looked quite old/established and thought I would go in. I am a knife collector as well. I was looking around the store and asked if he had any razors. Well sure enough he did. I didn't see them because they were on the other side of a dirty glass display. He opened up the glass door and showed me what he had. Well there were Merkur DE's and Thermos shaving brushes and feather blades on a few shelves but what caught my eye was the few straight razors that were in the bottom of the display. I asked where they were made and he said 'Spain'. So, I was allowed to look through them. He had (note past tense) two 3/8ths, one 6/8ths (number 13) and three 7/8ths (number 14) Filarmonica Novodur NOS striaght Razors. I am not as sure about the smaller ones as I did not open them up. But I Bought the 6/8ths right on the spot. Not a bad price, it was 12000 yen. I can't tell you how it shaves yet as I am not into stright razor shaving yet but what I saw I had to have. I will post Pics if I can after I take a few. The remaining 5 razors will probably sit there for who knows how long but I am tempted to get some more. The #14's were 14000 yen I think, and the small ones 8000 yen. A pretty fair price for a vintage NOS Filarmonica NOVODUR? You tell me...
