    Default Got my Dubl duck

After much debate and wondering I just had to cough up the cold green for one of the infamous Dubl Duck Satinedge razors. Took it all apart ,cleaned it, polished it re-pinned it, honed it, stropped it and gave it a whirl. As the old guy on "Everybody Loves Raymond" would say, "Holy Crap!". I had to stop half way through the first swipe to make sure the thing was working at all. Believe me, it was! I've got a lot of straights and this one has a feel like none other. Man it just glides with no effort. Very easily honed too. No wonder they're so sought after. I can honostly say that all the hype fits the bill on this one real well. If you don't have one, but are leaning toward cutting loose a little more cash than normal I would recommend the good ole DD with out hesitation.

Ya know that old adage, where's there's smoke there's fire. When so many people rave about something there's a reason. Sure there are plenty of other good shaving razors out there but personally they are the most consistantly great shavers, easy honers and easy to refurbish razors you'll ever find. I should know I have 14 of them. I've gotten some that looked like they belonged in the trash heap and have been able to get them back into A-1 physical condition and super great shavering condition in minimal time.

I won a Satinedge razor on Ebay this week, and received it today. It had some staining and a loose pivot pin. But I was able to clean it up and get a great edge on it in one afternoon.

I'm getting some fresh pins from Classic Shaving by Monday, and I might just disassemble the Duck and really clean it up good.
