    Griffon, while in NYC, had their own factory in Solingen. They look pretty close.
    I suppose a few others have surfaced over the years.
    Why would not Griffon make blades for others in their Solingen works.

    I've known a few that shave their legs with them, but that's as far as it goes.

    I shudder contemplating shaving my head with a straight. Everything below my waist tightens up when I think about what you might be suggesting.
