    Default M Jung No. 80

Here's the latest one. Just got the razor yesterday. The box I already had. I saw the razor that matched it and offered $20 and they took it. It said used but to me it looks like it is actually new old stock. The scales real ivory if I'm not mistaken. I have $37 in both the box and razor. I think I did pretty well. Any opinions?

I think you will like that one. I had a No.80 and it was a fantastic shaver. Hard to tell from the pics, but I am guessing bone or celluloid scales. Mine had faux ivory celluloid scales.

Definitely not celluloid. It could be Bone I guess. I could always do the hot needle test but I'd hate to leave a burn on it if it's not ivory.

Nice one! Bone. M Jung imported some fine grinding. Good Buy!

Since we've gotten to the subject of scale material. Any opinions on this Wester Brothers? I couldn't decide if I thought it was Bone or antler.Name: IMG_20181224_131819.jpg

I would say bone. Bone usually has pores that give it away.

Update on the M Jung No 80. I sanatized, stropped and shaved twice with it now. This is a fine shaving little razor. Right out of the packaging it was shave ready. It fits well in the hand. The bone is pleasing to hold both stropping and shaving and pleasing to the eye as well. It's like an old well made pick up truck: unadorned, simple, straight forward quality. It's very reminiscent of my Dad's Henkels 401, probably better actually but I just have a sentimental attachment to that one.
