    Default Wittex razors

Apparently not many of them come up when searching at ebay.com, but switch to .nl or .de and there are hoards of razors sold under the Wittex brand. You should be able to access the seller's profile (and items for sale) here.

Has anyone here tried any of their razors? I couldn't find much talk about the company here. Two posts mentioning wittex strops, one saying they're not good, and another one which kind of implies they're not good. Are they something to stay away from?

They do not have a good reputation here. A new razor from a quality mfg will cost you approx. $60. Anything less is to good to be true. Dovo, TI, GF, Wacker, Henckels.

    Except the Wapis then?

Anyway, that was what I expected, but I thought I'd check just to be sure.

I tried those Wittex pieces of crap. Tried for days to get a decent edge on it. (It was my first) No succes what so ever. My first shaves made my face look like ground beef.

Then I bought an old Worldmaster razor in a junkshop and after only an hour I had it popping hairs.

So I'd say stay away from those. Apart from being crap they're not all that cheap anyway.

Perhaps Wittex could be added to the list of brands to avoid in the "critical info for newbies" thread.

The Wittex Company is located near by or in Solingen.
