So I bought this Joseph Eilliot on ebay the other day.... IT IS COOL AS HELL!

I remember seeing one like this posted somewhere on the forum, but couldn't find it while doing a search. It is etched "Fine Silver Steel Concave" and the grind is like none I've ever seen before. The scales are in great shape, but are a little discolored (lighter" along the edges.

So... a few questions....

1. Any ideas as to how old this thing is?

2. Is there anything I can do to refurbish the scales beyond a little polish with MAAS?

3. What the hell would you call this grind? Frameback? Halfback?

4. It has some very light staining, but no pitting or rust. If I can manage go get rid of most of it with MAAS, could I just get her honed and shave, or would I have to worry about sanitation issues? I ask because I don't really want to get it restored... kinda like the character it has now.
