    I think it is an old razor from Asia. There are a few around. I’ve seen them online and in threads.

    Used for head shaving in Asia if I remember correctly.
    There is a thread on it either under razors or under head shaving from about 2 years ago I think.

    They're regularly sold as 'revolutionary war razors' because one of the razor collecting books labels it that way.

    And that may well be true. They may very well date to before 1949 when the Chinese Revolution happened.

    I have seen them sold in bulk for $5-10 each.

    As near as I can tell, they're made for Buddhist monks to shave heads.

    As an interesting aside, shaving tonsures was most likely how razors came from the Romans, so there's some tidy symmetry.
