Soctt, sorry you won't be able to join us. I was really hoping to meet you. Maybe Dave (Rolodave) will have his meet up in the Milwaukee area this fall and we can meet there.

My wife and I showed up in Adrian a day early so I would have time to peruse the store at a leisurely pace. Brad and Cassie and the store staff were busy getting ready for the meet, but that did not stop them from talking with both my wife and I. They were all great people. We even got to pet their cat, the store mascot. Although my wife is not really into shaving software and hardware, she was impressed with the organization of the store, the selection of products, and the friendliness of the staff.

Since Father's Day is just around the corner, my wife allowed me to pick out a number of items to add to my collection. Of course, since these items are for Father's Day, she paid for them and I won't get access to them until June 16th. Oh, well; it is not that I do not have alternatives. I selected several new soaps to add to my burgeoning collection, including a couple of new soap bases for evaluation. The highlight was a 28mm SHD badger knot and handle. Brad helped me pick it out. That knot has gotten amazing reviews for high quality at a decent price and now that I have one in hand, I can confirm the raves.

The Maggard Meet is sold out, both from the perspective of attendees and vendors. The store shelves are fully stocked and the vendors have brought in a lot of stuff both to sell and to give away. Noble Otter is releasing two new scents at the meet, I am hoping to grab one of them. They will be available to the general public later next week.

It will be great meeting many of the faces of those I have come to know on the forums. If any of the SRP members are there, please say hello.

It was a great meet. It was well run and well attended, both by vendors and participants. I came away with a number of purchases, a number of samples, and added wisdom from talking with a lot of the vendors.

I was quite surprised to see Peter Wolf of Wolf Whiskers there taking orders for semi-custom brushes. Since Peter's brushes are in such high demand, it can take weeks to get on Peter's waiting list, so coming to the meet was a way to get your hands on one. Unfortunately, I had just purchased a Maggard brush with one of Brad's SHD badger knots, so I did not feel I could spring for one of Peter's brushes.

There was a very nice collection of door prizes. I think every participant got some kind of prize. I came away with a very nice prize, an Above the Tie SE1 single edge razor. It has been decades since I shaved with a single edge razor (a Schick Type L injector). Thus, I am looking forward to loading up some Artist Club blades and taking it for a test run.
