Thanked: 0my real first de
After a few months "on and off" with an EJ De89 (borrowed by a friend) i decided to buy my first one. Merkur 34cHD.
Tomorrow first shave with astra sP. I'll let you know.

Thanked: 0Early today (2 hours ago) first shave with a astra sp. first pass WTG (useless for me since i got hair growing top to bottom everywhere except a small spot on the mustache area) so WTG i only move soap) then ATG and some toch ups XTG. Astonishing, bbs almost averywhere except an always problematic spot under the right jawline (always a problem with every razor including the closest - for me - cart, the pace7) and no nicks no cuts and for the first time with no ingrown hairs!

Thanked: 3228You know, I am beginning to think nearly everyone has one of those problematic spots and usually around/under the jawline. Well, at least I do too. Glad you are off to a good start with your DE. It will only get better.

Thanked: 0the strange thing is i always have that particular problematic spot only on the right side so i thing it's due to my worse skill when i use the left hand to shave

Thanked: 562I have one of those problem spots on the neck too. Seems the hair is going in all kinds of different directions. I can’t easily get a clean shave there with a straight and it takes multiple passes in different directions with a DE.

Thanked: 4830Close, clean, comfortable shaves is what it is all about. No matter how you get there it’s the goal of each of us. I’m glad you are there. I too think every one has a challenging area.

Thanked: 0Using the Hydro5 sense today i got a perfect bbs everywhere after a good lathering with Red proraso and my trusty Wilkinson brush. 2 passes wtg atg an just 2/3 touch-UPS and the bbs was complete even on my trouble area. I'm impressed. Obviously those modern multiblade razors are not just marketing.

Thanked: 3228Use what ever works best for you. You won't get too many comments on cartridge razors from a forum dedicated to users of straight razors.

Thanked: 0That's why I asked for my account removal. If, as a cart user i have to post something in an "enemy" field, staying here is useless.
