Default J.A. Henckels Friodur 8/8 without number on tang (14?)

Hi everyone, I ask you if anyone can give me more information about this J.A. Henckels Inox Friodur without number on the blade with custom handle (see attachment). The size of blade is 25.3 mm.
The German gentleman who sold me this piece explained to me that it was part of 'weekly' but it was the eighth of a stock without handle and without the number 14 typical of this model. Then the handle was added and made custom. Who could help me learn more about this J.A. Henckels Friodur? Thanks in advance.

There are a lot of those around. It is my understanding that they were an old stock sell off from Henckels some time ago. They are all essentially unmarked 14 and 17 blades that were finished by Henckels but never scaled or honed. About 12ish years ago they market was full of them, but you don’t really see them much anymore. I have one in my rotation of Henckels razors, and it performs as well as my marked 14 and 17 blades. I hope you like yours too.

Thanks for your information!! I love this blade!!
Usually (then there are the exceptions!) the 17 have smaller size than the 14 ... Can we say that the closer to a blade number 14 without being an official 14? thanks again. Greetings. Michele.

Yes. There were two sizes and grinds in the unmarked. The 7/8” half hollows were unmarked 17’s and the 8/8 full hollows were likely 14’s. I have not heard any bad reports.
